I’ve seen several posts now complaining that Pema’s labor and delivery in “Turning the Tides” happened too quickly to be believable, and that it was also ridiculous that it would happen at the same time as the attack on Air Temple Island. As someone who has personally given birth to three children, I disagree: in fact I think this aspect of the plot was unusually well handled. Here’s why.

ETA: I’VE SEEN THE EPISODE NOW! I TAKE IT BACK! Not that it was ever more than a joke in the first place. But actually knowing something about Tarrlok and his agenda makes Korra/Tarrlok a big ol’ ball of DO NOT WANT.
